What is dark and deep net?

In simple words deep net means an existence of a parallel web world which has layered information system and cannot be reached by regular browsers and the content of this parallel internet information system are hidden. The encryption is so strong and in so many layers that there is no history generated of visited websites.. The dark web is a subsection of the deep web and constitutes hidden networks which exist for all sorts of activities. The dark net cannot be reached unless you use the special browsers like Tor.

According to Wikipedia “The dark web is the World Wide Web content that exists on darknets, overlay networks which use the Internet but require specific software, configurations or authorization to access. The dark web forms a small part of the deep web, the part of the Web not indexed by web search engines, although sometimes the term deep web is mistakenly used to refer specifically to the dark web.
The darknets which constitute the dark web include small, friend-to-friend peer-to-peer networks, as well as large, popular networks like Tor, Freenet, and I2P, operated by public organizations and individuals. Users of the dark web refer to the regular web as Clearnet due to its unencrypted nature. The Tor dark web may be referred to as onionland, a reference to the network’s top level domain suffix .onion and the traffic anonymization technique of onion routing.”

Now the important questions arise What is on the dark net?Can you and your children reach there without intending so and without knowing so.?

What is on the Dark Net reads like a horror story. So while all content on the Dark Net may not be objectionable a huge part of it is very disturbing. The possible upsetting content  of Dark Nets includes
1. Stark Violence: Dark net contains sites which are very graphic in the way they portray violence. This may include bloodshed, torture, sadistic pleasure in giving pain to others, physically harming others and so on. These can be in the form of games, videos or how to do kind of lessons.
2. Selling of Drugs: One of the most popular business on dark net is sale of illicit drugs. Yes as you can imagine why that would be so when it is a tdrug-darknet-childrenotally hidden and non-transparent information system. Not once but many times the dark net has been in News for the drug trade.

3. Sale Of Firearms: This is another popular trade on Dark Net. Imagine what this implies! It means you can easily buy guns and other stuff and also get tutorials on how to use them. Scary isn’t it?

4. Illegal Wildlife trade: This is another of the trading business which happens on darknet. And the demand generated there pushes poaching and killing of animals for business and money.
5. Child and other Human Trafficking: Lure of quick money and demand for trafficking has created a huge market for this illegal activity which is easy to carry on within a system of total anonymity.
6. Child Pornography: Once again the peculiar nature of the dark net provides easy breeding ground for something as perverse and depraved as this. And yes going by some accounts the viewership is huge. So an all-out effort is made by people associated with these activities to entice and exploit kids.
7. Other available stuff relates to recruitment for illegitimate activities including terrorism, brainwashing people to commit crimes like theft murder etc and also online harassment sometimes leading to suicides.

To be continued…………..

In the next part we shall see how we and our children can reach dark net without realising and also what are ways in which dark net can damage us and how we and children can be safe?#darknet
