PDA Diamond awards are the reflection of the philosophy of Shri Purushottam Das Agarwal, who believed that heroes exist in our everyday lives, all around us. The way we find a diamond buried deep into the depth of the mantle of the Earth in a place where the mercury soars to unbearable levels. The same way in a crowd of thousands of thousand people we get our diamonds -- “a person.” who has suffered multiple blows of numerous problems hurled at him / her by society / nature; but they never give up. Instead such people keep improving themselves, polishing the diamond within, rising and shining continuously. Their challenge only brightens their brilliance leaving everyone in awe as they get discovered. Watch this video to know more.

Purushottam Das Agarwal Diamond Awards

“A diamond, neither easier to identify nor to maintain.”

Agarwal Sir himself facedmany challenges to get an education, travelled 15 miles everyday on foot to attend school and by sheer dedication reached IIT Roorkee and joined Government of India where again he rose to pinnace of a career Engineer. He believed that everyone that everyone has a superpower just that we don't know it yet.

This is what Shri Purushottam Das Agarwal Ji believed and wanted such diamonds of the society to be recognized and applauded. It is in his honor and his wishes that MHF is instituting these awards. The President for these Awards Initiative is Mrs. Nirupma Agarwal my Mother who never let us forget that Papa's wishes are to be honoured. It is with great pride that I say I am honored to be the daughter of this great man. In fact Make Happy Foundation is dedicated to his philosophy of spreading Happiness.

Let’s all join hands together in finding such diamonds and give them their due credit for maintaining the awesomeness of this society, again and again.

The Categories

Keeping in mind the above philosophy we have created the following categories to honour these precious jewels in the right way that they deserve. For us, being a diamond is superior and that is all which has contributed to its gravity.

We salute all such Mothers, Fathers, Children, Individuals (Social workers/ NGOs, etc.,) Mentors, etc., who have given up their own comfort/ desires, and kept moving despite problems or rejections just to let either their children or the community strengthen their belief in the power of one’s dream, power of exercising basic rights of human needs without fear.

We are looking for diamonds in form of a mother or a father, who helps their children to realize their goal/ dream, they make them strong enough to believe that dreams can be fulfilled despite challenges., a common person who contributes to removing dowry in his or her village, the teacher who is silently making a difference in young lives, the girl who fought all odds of poverty and bias to shine in studies, the list just goes on and on. For positively changing a divyang person’s life (it is just an indicator) – to take them to 50-60 Km far for the training purposes.)

Society would not have flourished if some did not believe in their power to change the world. If they have not committed themselves to the betterment of the people/ society, we have for sure been living life without computers or smartphones or most of the innovations that exist in life today.

Society would not have flourished if some did not believe in their power to change the world. If they have not committed themselves to the betterment of the people/ society, we have for sure been living life without computers or smartphones or most of the innovations that exist in life today.

We at MHF salute the courage and commitment of such individuals who have come forward with their innovative solutions on their own, i.e., without much support (financial or sociological) or guidance from their peer group or they made it happen on their own against the insufficient financial support.
